Kodak Portra 800

Katja and Rollei

Another new film — and I was going to reduce the number of film brands/makes that I shoot! The world as we know it is getting darker and greyer and faster films are needed to stop the movement. Fuji Pro 800Z and Kodak Portra 800 are practically the only available fast color films. I have previously shot Fuji’s ISO 800 film in medium format and last weekend I shot a roll of Kodak’s (also in medium format).

The Tetenal chemicals I’m using are dying. They were mixed only two weeks ago but the concentrates were in opened bottles for over 2 months. I’m going to develop 2 more rolls with these chemicals and then I’m switching to Rollei’s chemicals which have longer storage life. I’m sure Kodak Portra 800 shouldn’t be this pink/red normally.
